Iron Chef Camp Weekend (Jan 21-22)

We are extending the registration for the Iron Chef-Camp Weekend as we only have 10 scouts signed up at this point.

We will meet at Camp Alaflo Saturday Morning 9:00am 21 January 2017. Parents can pick up scouts at 11:30am Sunday. Cost is $20

This is an opportunity for scouts to complete camping and outdoor skill requirements for rank advancements….. Please encourage your scouts to attend!

Email or contact me by phone if your scout would like to participate.

Recharter and Troop Due Reminder

I have not heard from very many regarding recharter. Thanks to those who have responded – for the rest; I need to know if your Scout is rechartering with the Troop by Monday. I can collect the money at our next meeting (1/23) but I have to turn the roster in and I cannot recharter a Scout that I have not heard from. This means the Scout or adult will no longer be a registered member of the Troop.

$25 BSA registration per person and $26 Troop Dues per scout. $12 for Boy’s Life training.

For example, a scout and his father would be $76 – or $88 if a scout wanted a subscription to Boy’s Life.

I will be at the wood cutting at 2:00 on Monday 1/16 but I can’t stay the entire time. Please see me Monday, e-mail or text me.

2017 Recharter Info

It is time to Recharter Troop 77:

All Scouts will need to pay Registration of $25.00 and Dues of $26.00 (Dues can be paid in installments or all at once)

Boy’s Life subscriptions are $12.00

All Registered Adults will need to pay Registration of $25.00 and must be current on Youth Protection Training.

January 9th is the deadline, feel free to e-mail Charlotte at babinurse@roadrunner.com with any questions!

Hope you are having wonderful Holidays!!!

Scouting Forever Memorial Fund

Scouting Families,

Troop 77 is honored to announce the establishment of the Scouting Forever Memorial Fund to celebrate the life of Carl Rickert II. We are forever thankful for the contributions he made to our Scouting Family and continue to carry his memories with us during every Scouting adventure.

Carl’s passion for Scouting and the impact he had in the lives of young men continues on as we travel along the Scouting trail. The Scouting Forever Memorial Fund is established to allow our scouts with financial need to participate in Scouting programs and activities that may not otherwise have the financial resources to experience our Scouting adventures.

I ask that you consider a contribution to this memorial fund in Carl’s memory so that his Scouting spirit remains in our hearts and that his commitment to shaping young men’s lives reaches all Scouts within our program.

Contributions to this fund can be made to our Financial Chairman, Charlotte Fuller.

Yours in Scouting,

Mark Hampton

RSVP information is on the flyer.

Volunteering with GP Manna House on 11/19

For those of you that were interested in helping on Saturday, here’s the information.

Hello. This Saturday, November 19, Downtown Enterprise will be hosting  pre-Black Friday Christmas shopping/activities. Along with this people are encouraged to bring charitable donations for the GP Manna House.😁

We need lots of volunteers to set up, collect donations, and clean up after the event. The festivities are from 9-3. But we could use help to set up at 8:30. You don’t have to stay the whole day. Any amount of time would be wonderful.⏰

We are going to meet at the Regents Bank parking lot, closest to Milky Moos. If you plan on spending the day,  please bring some money so that you can eat. We will have a few light snacks and some bottled water. If you’d like to donate some bottled water and snacks that would be greatly appreciated. 💦 if you have lawn chairs you might want to bring those.

I’ve never done an event like this so, I don’t know what to expect. I am asking for your patience. If we receive just one item we are better than the day before. Let’s have fun, get our Christmas groove on, enjoy one another, and support our local businesses. 🎄

Thanks for all your support toward this wonderful ministry. God Bless you all!🙏

If you are not sure what the GP Manna is I will explain. It is a food pantry and clothing closet at the Grace Place church. We serve qualifying low income families within Coffee County. In the last 2 1/2 years we served roughly 6000 families equating to 17,000 individuals. It’s an all volunteer organization. The food and clothing given out comes from charitable donations.

Peace and Grace,
Andrea Staver

Rendezvous postponed + meeting dates for the remainder of 2016

Rendezvous has been rescheduled for February 17-19 due to the state-wide burn restrictions. Scouts should wear their uniforms instead of Rendezvous regalia to meetings. Scouts should also bring their handbooks and Trail to Eagle binders as they will be reviewing progress and completing advancement instead of preparing for Rendezvous.

Regarding advancement — scouts who are still working out of the 12th edition handbooks to complete their current rank must do so within the next 3 weeks.  As of January 1, all scouts, regardless of the date they achieved their current rank, will use the 2016 rank requirements. The last regular meeting of the year where a scout can have a Board of Review and be advanced using the 2015 requirements is Monday, Dec. 5.
Upcoming meetings:
Nov. 21 — troop meeting, Class “A” uniform
Nov. 28 — troop meeting, Class “B” uniform
Dec. 5 — Patrol Leader Council at 5:30 p.m, followed by the troop meeting at 6:30 p.m. Class “A” uniform.
Dec. 12 — Committee meeting at 5:30 p.m., followed by the Court of Honor at 6:30 p.m. Class “A” uniform plus merit badge sash. Mark and the rest of the committee would welcome some help setting up for the Court of Honor. If you can arrive a few minutes early it would be greatly appreciated!  This is the last meeting for 2016.
Jan. 2 — Happy New Year! Patrol Leader Council at 5:30 p.m., followed by the troop meeting at 6:30 p.m. Class “A” uniform

Woodsmoke Rendezvous XXXVI

The troop has begun preparing for Rendezvous, and several of you have questions. The Woodsmoke Brigade has put together a website which covers the purpose and history of Rendezvous, methods and activities during the event, driving directions, and quite a few pictures which should be helpful as scouts put together their regalia. Check it out!
